Memory

Sachsenhausen concentration camp operated in Oranienburg, north of Berlin, from 1936 to 1945. More than 200,000 people passed through it, and tens of thousands died there. Today it is a memorial and museum.

On the pavements of Berlin, the Stolpersteine remember the victims of Nazism with a brass plaque in front of the last home they lived in.
